Guide to Surviving Between Patches

This is version two of the original Nova's guide. The previous thread ended up dying off mainly because I'd been inactive and so I was unable to update the thread. So this is the recreation of the thread.

Hiya all. I'm sure there are times where some of you log onto World of Warcraft and feel like there's absolutely nothing to do. The purpose of this thread is to list every possible thing you can do when you're bored on World of Warcraft. :)

PvP

  • Battlemaster

  • These require you to grind out the achievements for Master of Alterac Valley, Arathi Basin, Strand of the Ancients, Warsong Gulch, and Eye of the Storm.

  • Cross Realm

  • Recently implemented, players are able to queue up for battlegrounds cross realm. They're also able to construct RBG groups and queue up for those aswell. In addition, arena teams will be removed and in 5.4, you'll be able to queue up for these cross-realm as well.

  • Darkmoon Duelist/Darkmoon Dominator

  • This achievement involves you winning the Darkmoon Deathmatch receiving a trinket called the Pit Fighter trinket after looting the chest which spawns every 3 hours similar to the Gurubashi Arena Grand Master. It has a quest attached and once you loot the chest 12 more times, (aka. Winning the Deathmatch), you earn the achievement Darkmoon Dominator and the trinket Master Pit Fighter. These achievements are only available during the Darkmoon Faire and on some servers, it is highly active in the pit.

  • Duels

  • Whether Alliance or Horde, dueling can be a fun past time to those who enjoy PvP. For Alliance, players generally hang out outside of Stormwind and duel there while waiting for PvP queues. For Horde, players generally hang out outside of Orgimmar and duel there. Though do note that not everyone enjoys dueling. Make sure to ask prior to requesting a duel so you avoid irritating someone who doesn't want to participate.

  • For The Alliance/Horde

  • This is rather difficult to pull off now and can require up to two full raid groups depending on the population of server you're on. It may be easier on a Low Pop than a High Pop for example. :)
This achievement awards Reins of the Black War Bear.

  • Gurubashi Arena Grand Master

  • To complete this achievement, you have to loot 12 trinkets of the Arena Master. The chest which holds the trinket appears in the center of the Gurubashi Arena every 3 hours. On occasion, you may have to fight several people off to get it. The trinkets themselves are quite decent for lower level twinks.

  • Ha'laa
  • Organizing an event for Ha'laa can be fun where the two factions fight it out to maintain control and grind tokens. Or, you can simply get friends from the opposite faction to help out and trade kills to grind Halaa Battle Tokens which paired with Halaa Research Tokens (received from turning in a daily quest while in possession of Halaa) can be used to buy neat items including two special coloured Talbuks.
Reins of the Dark Riding Talbuk and Reins of the Dark War Talbuk.

  • Of The Alliance/Horde/Bloodthirsty
  • This title is awarded after getting 100K Honourable Kills . Bloodthirsty is the next tier of the title which is awarded after achieving 250K Honourable Kills.
(IMPORTANT NOTE! : If you're planning on grinding the Justicar and the Battlemaster, you'll more than likely achieve over 100,000 killing blows simply by going for those two.)

  • PvP Tournaments
  • Players can organize their own miniature versions of these tournaments on their own realms.
The tournaments would be done through the War Games feature for Arenas.
    Players would compete w/ either 2v2, 3v3, or 5v5.
There can be in-game prizes in the end for the best team.

  • Rated Battlegrounds
  • Rated Battlegrounds are an organized form of normal battlegrounds that require a varying number of players to do. These battlegrounds provide rating which, once you break a certain threshold, begin to award titles such as Private, Corporal, Grand Marshall. There are also horde counterparts of those titles such as Grunt, Legionnaire, and High Warlord. These can be exceedingly difficult because these are organized. There are also specific compositions that are overpowered in RBGs. Also, if you win a certain number of battlegrounds, you get awarded a mount. The alliance receive Vicious War Steed. The horde receive Vicious War Wolf. You're also awarded a title, 'Veteran of the Alliance' Remember, these battlegrounds go in the following brackets. 10v10, 15v15, and 25v25. Recently, acquiring high ratings also allows you to purchase and transmogrify the replica Field and Grand Marshall sets from Area 52.

  • The Justicar
  • This title is awarded after getting exalted with Stormpike Guards, Silverwing Sentinels, and Knights of Arathor. It's a lengthy grind but will help you out on the road to getting the achievement below.

  • Tol Barad
  • This is the "PvP zone" of Cataclysm and the counterpart to Wintergrasp. There are dailies available to do if the zone is under your factions control and Baradin Hold, a raid, becomes available aswell. There are dailies to do on the other island aswell if the zone isn't under your control. The dailies award Tol Barad Commendation which can be used to buy companions, vanity items, 359 trinkets, and mounts.

  • Twinked Toons
  • In PvP, players choose to turn their experience off and deck their character in the best possible gear for it's intended level. Some of the more popular twink levels are 14, 19, 24, 29, and 70. Some of these are more popular at specific times at the day and you'll have to research more to know whens the best times. :)

  • Wintergrasp
  • This battleground is normally not active due to it being the "PvP" of the previous expansion but if you do have the zone under your factions control, you'll be eligible to do Vault of Archavon & there's also a vendor who sells a Black War Mammoth for 2,000 honour.

  • 2v2 Arena
  • In PvP, there are two main things players tend to do. One being battlegrounds and the other being Arenas. Arenas are a sort of gladiator-isque battle in which teams are pitted against teams. 2v2 Arenas are based around two teams of two in a face off. 2v2 does not provide titles once you reach a certain rating. However, gaining above a 1550 rating will increase your Conquest Cap. :) There are also several achievements you can get from 2s. They're rather fun to do and can go relatively quickly depending on your teams composition. Note, healer + dps teams can take longer to complete in comparison to 2 dps teams. :) Also, remember, 2s can be severely unbalanced. Blizzard only balances PvP around 3v3. :p
Important Note : Gaining 2200+ in 2s is part of the criteria to get the title "Arena Master."

  • 3v3 Arena
  • 3 v 3 Arenas are similar to 2 v 2 except involving an extra person. Blizzard puts most of their efforts to balancing PvP in the 3v3 setting. In this setting, you're able to unlock titles depending on your ratings. How high your rating has to be depends on the battlegroup you're in. The titles you can unlock are Challenger, Rival, Duelist, and Gladiator. Challenger requires a player to reach the top 35% of their battlegroup. Rival requires a player to reach the top 10% of their battlegroup. Duelist is awarded to players who reach the top 0.5%-3% of their battlegroup. Gladiator is rewarded to players who reach the top <0.5% of their battlegroup. You're also awarded an armoured mount of some sorts if you get Gladiator. On to 3s as a topic, there are various comps that you can commit to. Some comps are stronger than others. For example, as of Patch 4.3, comps such as Rogue Lock Shaman are extremely strong. There are many other strong comps. To learn more about different compositions, check out sites such as Arenajunkies or ask questions in the Arena Forums located in the WoW site. 3s require lots of organization and can be very enjoyable. Best of luck. :)

  • 5v5 Arena
  • 5 v 5 Arena is slightly different than 2s and 3s in the way that there are 5 on each team which results in, generally, faster fights. This setting isn't balanced around so it can be a little irritating. There are specific team compositions that are superior to others. Similar to 3s, 5 v 5 Arena also awards titles. See the 3 v 3 post about how the titles work. If you get in the top 0.5%, you'll be awarded an armoured mount of some sorts aswell. Remember to check out Arenajunkies or ask questions in the Arena Forums if you're interested and want to find decent composition. It requires quite a bit of organization.

    PvE

  • Cataclysm Glory Achievements
  • These meta achievements can still be a pain to get simply due to the fact that, using Dragon Soul as an example, it's current content. The Heroic Mode encounters for Dragon Soul are still a challenge for the majority of players and plus, there are other meta achievements to be done aswell. The Glory of the Firelands Raider is much easier to accomplish due to the nerfed nature of the Heroic Bosses in Firelands. If you can find a group that knows all the encounters, it shouldn't be difficult to blow through it. The Cataclysm Raider could still be challenging due to the fact that they were never nerfed. It's widely considered that the majority of the Tier 11 Heroics were more challenging than almost all the Firelands Heroics except Ragnaros prenerf.

  • Challenge Modes
  • Challenge mode is an "advanced" difficulty that is available by right clicking on your portrait and setting the 5 man difficulty to challenge mode. This difficulty is only available for the 9 heroics introduced with Mists of Pandaria. You can't queue for challenge modes and you need to manually enter the instance after creating your own group. Everyone in the group then has their gear scaled down to an item level of 463 (but not scaled up) and tier bonuses stop functioning. Challenge modes are basically timed and the faster you complete them, the better "medal" you get. If you receive all bronze medals, you'll receive the title "Undaunted". If you receive all silver medals, you'll be able to choose a character-specific Phoenix mount. If you receive all gold medals, you'll receive a class-specific transmogrification outfit.

  • Champion of the Frozen Wastes

  • This title is obtained after completing all the opening Wrath of the Lich King Heroics and completing the three introduction raids in Wrath. Those raids are Eye of Eternity (10/25), Obsidian Sanctum (10/25), and Naxxramas (10/25). This should be fairly easy to obtain and it's likely that you can 2-3M each and every one of these on the 10M difficulty (5M difficulty for the Heroics).

  • Cross Realm

  • With the release of Patch 4.3 came the ability to do old content raids cross-realm. This allows players w/ friends on another realms to join together and clear content. Players who are on low population realms also have the ability to do raids that they might not normally have access to.
There are quite a few sites that have sprung up since the introduction of cross-realm raiding.
One of the more active sites is Openraid.us.
Openraid is the most active cross-realm raiding community and has dozens of raids set up on a weekly basis. There are also cross-realm PvP events (i.e. RBGs).

  • Defender of a Shattered World

  • This title is obtained after completing all the opening Cataclysm Heroics and completing the three introduction raids in Cataclysm. Those raids are Blackwing Descent, Bastion of Twilight, and Throne of Four Winds. This achievement and title is fairly easy to obtain. All it takes is one or two players who are knowledgeable about the encounters. However, you should still go in with at least 9-10 or 20-25 players in these runs to make them as smooth as possible.

  • Dragonwrath, Tarecgosa's Rest

  • Dragonwrath, Tarecgosa's Rest was the legendary that became available to all Offensive Casters in Patch 4.2 : Rage of the Firelands. The staff requires at least 4 months of weekly Firelands clears on the 10M difficulty to achieve. To begin, a player must kill a Molten Lord in the Firelands. Afterwards, you must collect 25 Eternal Embers and spend 9K Gold on Sands of Time which are available from a vendor in Uldum. 25 Eternal Embers take at least a month to achieve on the 10M difficulty. In the end, a player must collect 25 Eternal Embers which takes approximately 4 weeks. The step after requires another week in which you must collect imbued shards from Beth'tilac, Rhyolith, Alysrazor, and Shannox. Then you must slay Volcanus to get the first step of the staff complete. Then, a player must collect 1,000 Seething Cinders. This will take at least two months to complete. Afterwards, a player must siphon each raid boss for 250 Essences. This will take another month and a half. Once you complete the siphons, you must slay Ragnaros and take his Heart. Then, you can complete the staff and Kalecglos will present you with your legendary.
Important Note : This assumes you're doing the questline on the 10M Heroic difficulty.

  • Earth, Wind, and Fire (10M/25M)

  • This achievement is done in Vault of Archavon after it's under your factions control. To get this achievement, you have to kill Archavon the Stone Watcher, Emalon the Storm Watcher, and Koralon the Flame Watcher within 60 seconds of each other.

  • GDKP

  • GDKP (Gold Kill Points?) is a way for groups (Usually PUGs) to decide who gets loot that drops in an instance. Rather than using DKP, when an item drops, players bid gold for the item, and the person who bids the most wins. At the end of the entire raid (Or each boss, as some GKP leaders tend to do) the gold is then split among all the players attending the GKP run. Generally, GDKPs are 25Ms.
GDKPs used to be far more popular in Wrath than they are now when 10s & 25s had separate raid lockouts. However, they're still able to be done on most medium - full realms.
If you're interested in doing these, make sure to get the word out.
Set some rules and make sure to repeat the rules in-game before the raid starts.
A GDKP can wrack in neat profit for most members there and can be quite fun.

  • Glorious
  • This achievement is awarded for killing each and every one of the Pandaren champions in Pandaria. There's a list of all of them in achievements under Exploration -> Pandaria.
http://www.wowhead.com/achievement=7439/glorious is a useful source if you'd like locations for each and every mob.

  • Glory of the Cataclysm Raider

  • This meta achievement is considered harder to get in comparison to its Firelands counterpart. It requires 12 Heroic Boss kills from Tier 11. These bosses are located in Bastion of Twilight, Blackwing Descent, and Throne of Four Winds. You will most likely need a full 10M Raid Group or 25M Raid Group to complete these achievements. After completing the 12 Heroic Boss Kills, you also will need to complete another 12 Achievements that involve each of the encounters. Some are able to done on Heroic while others aren't. So, it'll probably take at least two weeks to complete. After completing this achievement, you will receive two titles : "Blackwings' Bane" and "Of the Four Winds." You will also receive a mount Reins of the Drake of the East Wind. Good luck and find solid players for this Glory meta.

  • Glory of the Firelands Raider
  • This meta achievement requires completion of 6/7 Heroic bosses in Firelands along with 6 Meta achievements. It requires far less effort than the Tier 11 counterpart and rewards the Corrupted Egg of Millagazor. The mount is a look-a-like of the Pureblood Firehawk which drops off of Normal and Heroic Ragnaros except purple. You will most likely need a full 10 or 25M group to complete this raid aswell. Most of the metas, if not all of them, are able to be done on Heroic but they're fairly difficult to do so.
It's recommended to try to do it in two weeks, once on Heroic and once on Normal. Best of luck!

  • Glory of the Cataclysm Hero
  • This meta achievement is fairly easy to get albeit requires some knowledge of the fights. It awards the Reins of the Volcanic Stone Drake. This contributes to the We're Going to Need More SaddlesAchievement. To get this achievement, you must grind out several heroic instances from the initial Cataclysm launch. It requires the completion of 28 different achievements of varying difficulties. Some of the achievements requires a lot of effort on the group members part. It's well worth it in the end.
Important Note : This definitely should not be attempted in a PUG. Make sure to try this achievement with friends or guildies whom you can easily communicate with.

  • Glory of the Hero

  • This meta achievement is also fairly easy to get. It doesn't require too much knowledge of each encounter past knowing how to obtain the achievement. It awards the Reins of the Red Proto-Drake. It requires the completion of 38 different achievements of varying difficulties. Some achievements can easily be soloed while others can require an upwards of 2-3 people and even a full party group for some. This is assuming you're at level cap when trying to do this.
Important Note : Get a few friends together and do this as a group. It'll go rather smoothly if everyone is able to communicate. :)

  • Glory of the Icecrown Raider 10/25

  • This meta achievement is fairly easy to obtain and requires the completion of each and every achievement associated with the meta. A player must clear Icecrown Citadel on the Heroic difficulty and then either can do the achievements while on the Heroic difficulty (allowing you to complete the achievements in a week) or do the achievements the following week on normal. Technically, no matter what you do, unless you've already cleared ICC, it'll take two weeks to complete this meta due to the nature of Blood Queens achievement Once Bitten, Twice Shy. On completion of the meta achievement, players are awarded a mount depending on the difficulty they complete it on. The 10M meta achievement reward is : Reins of the Bloodbathed Frostbrood Vanquisher. The 25M meta achievement reward is : Reins of the Icebound Frostbrood Vanquisher.
Important note : This is easily puggable and requires around 8/15 people at maximum to do this efficiently. However, the more you have, the easier it gets.

  • Glory of the Ulduar Raider 10/25

  • This meta achievement is also fairly easy to obtain and requires the completion of multiple achievements in the raid Ulduar. There's no real heroic setting but each achievement is considering a 'hardmode'. These achievements can be fairly difficult to accomplish and I would suggest having a full raid group to do these efficiently. Also, make sure you're in a ventrilo or mumble to easily communicate. Most of these achievements can be completed in one week. In fact, I believe all of them can. Razorscale can be done over multiple attempts but you could also do it in one setting. On completion of the achievement, you will be rewarded a mount depending on the difficulty.
For 10M, you will be rewarded Reins of the Rusted Proto-Drake. On the 25M setting, you will be rewarded Reins of the Ironbound Proto-Drake.
Important Note : This achievement can also be easily PUG'd. However, I'd recommend you get background information on each achievement before going into the instance. It'll save you from many a head-ache.

  • Glory of the Raider 10/25

  • This meta achievement, like the meta achievements listed above, is fairly easy to accomplish. The only difference between this one and the above two is that this one doesn't award any mounts. The Glory of the Raider achievement is also spread between three instances ; Obsidian Sanctum, Naxxramas, and Eye of Eternity. There are a few oddities to this meta achievement including one that requires that you complete the instance Naxxramas without the intended amount of players. In this situation, I'd recommend players go in with either 9 individuals counting themselves or 20 individuals counting themselves.

  • Herald of the Titans
  • This achievement was removed as an actual achievement but is still obtainable as a feat of strength. To get this achievement, you have to kill Algalon the Observer in Ulduar 10 player mode. No one in the raid must be above level 80 and no one must have an item level higher than 226 to get this achievement. It awards a title that is very rare nowadays because it still requires the player to be at level 80. To help out with getting the gear for this achievement, you should put together a run of 10 80s wearing full Cataclysm green gear until the group is decked out in 226 and below gear. Afterwards, go for Algalon.

  • Iron Man Challenge

  • This is a personal challenge in which you level a character from 1 to 85, "Iron Man Style". The basic gist of this challenge is simple : level from 1 to 85. The catch, however, is that you must accomplish this task without the assistance of talents, class specialization, stat-improved gear, professions, buffs, item enhancements, or other players. If you die, you start over again. More information can be found in this blog.http://us.battle.net/wow/en/blog/4452527

Due to Mists of Pandaria, the Iron Man Challenge is that much more difficult. Time to get to level 90. :)

  • Loremaster
  • To complete this achievement, you need to grind and complete all quests in every zone of Azeroth. It'll take quite a bit of time. I suggest starting out on Eastern Kingdoms and moving up then switching to Kalimdor and moving up. Afterwards, go to Outlands and swap to Northrend after Outlands is completed. It's not the most efficient way to make gold but you'll make over 10,000 gold by the time you've completed it. After completing it, you'll be awarded a tabard (Loremaster's Colors) and a title (___ the Loremaster.) While you're working through Loremaster, you'll likely complete the "3000 Quests Completed!" achievement aswell which will grant you the title "____ the Seeker".
The questing itself is quite enjoyable and some changes for Horde vs Alliance are quite enjoyable, especially in the 1-60 zones. Personally, I've experienced both the Horde and Alliance side of quests and I must say that the Horde quests were some of the best quests I've ever done (Looking at you Silverpine).

  • Medium Rare/Bloody Rare

  • This achievement is awarded for killing one of the rare named mobs in Outland. There's a list of all of them in achievements under Exploration -> Outlands. Bloody Rare is awarded for killing all of them. http://www.wowhead.com/achievement=1312/bloody-rare is a source if you'd like locations for each and every mob.

  • Northern Exposure/Frostbitten

  • This is the Northrend equivalent of Medium Rare/Bloody Rare. Northern Exposure is accomplished after killing one of the rare named mobs in Northrend. Frostbitten is for killing all of them. http://www.wowhead.com/achievement=2257 is a helpful source if you'd like the locations for each and every mob.

  • Old Raid Content

  • There are several reasons why people do Old Raids. This varies from simple achievement runs, mount grinds, transmogrification, or simply to enjoy the scenery. Blizzard has made brilliant raid content in the past that's well designed and simply visually engaging. Raids such as Ulduar, Karazhan, and Black Temple are known to be some of the most brilliant raids in World of Warcraft.

  • Shadowmourne

  • Shadowmourne was the legendary that became available to Paladins, Warriors, and Death Knights during Icecrown Citadel. It was a long quest chain that, in the end, awarded a box of goodies that gave several neat items including Reins of the Crimson Deathcharger, Tabard of the Lightbringer, and more. To start off the questchain, you must be friendly with the Ashen Verdict (ICC rep). Afterwards, if you're one of the above classes, you're able to do a long quest chain that involves collecting bloods, committing infusions, and grinding out shards. The whole process can take approximately 2-3 months at level 85. It's well worth it in the end.
-This must be done on 25M. Heroic bosses have better chances of dropping the shards.-

  • Sulfuras, Hand of Ragnaros

  • Sulfuras, Hand of Ragnaros was the favored weapon of Ragnaros, the Firelord. To obtain this item, players will have to go into Molten Core which is located in Blackrock Mountain. An easy way to enter the instance is to sneak through a window in the construct in the middle of Blackrock Mountain. For some reason, it will teleport you into the instance. This item, rather than being a drop, is created. You have to create Sulfuron Hammer which is a pattern Blacksmiths can obtain. Afterwards, you have to kill Ragnaros in the Molten Core until he drops Eye of Sulfuras. Then, you proceed to combine the two and, voila, Sulfuras, Hand of Ragnaros!
Note : This is easily soloable by most classes.

  • Thori'dal, the Stars' Fury

  • Thori'dal, the Stars' Fury is a rare drop off of Kil'jaeden in the Sunwell Plateau raid instance which is located on the Isle of Quel'danas. The only classes that can currently equip the item and receive the feat of strength are Rogues, Warriors, and Hunters. The item also contributes to "The Ultimate Collection" guild achievement. It has a unique model and, as stated, will grant you a feat of strength when equipped. :) A suggestion would be to take a group of 5-10 85s to Sunwell because it can still be a bit of a challenge for some players. ^^ Thori'dal, the Stars' Fury.

  • Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker

  • Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker is a legendary weapon that was once wielded by Thunderaan. To get this weapon, you must create it. To create this weapon, you must get two items from two raid bosses located in Molten Core.
One drops off of Garr Bindings of the Windseeker. The other half drops off of Baron Geddon. Upon looting either of them, you must go to Silithus and talk to Highlord Demitrian. He'll give you an item : Vessel of Rebirth. Once you get the Vessel, you must make sure you have both bindings, an Essence of the Firelord which drops off of Ragnaros (100% drop rate once you're on the quest) and 10x Enchanted Elementium Bar which are obtained from smelting Elementium Ingots, Fiery Cores, Arcanite Bars, and Elemental Flux. After you gain all these items, go back to Demitrian in Silithus. He'll promptly summon Prince Thunderaan, the Wind Seeker. After you slay him, complete the quest and you'll be awarded with Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker . After equipping the item, you will gain a feat of strength and this will contribute to your Guilds "The Ultimate Collection" achievement.
Important Note : Make sure to kill Ragnaros each week you attempt to kill Baron Geddon and Garr to have a chance on getting Eye of Sulfuras.
This will allow you to work your way on creating Sulfuras, Hand of Ragnaros which is mentioned above.

  • Twinked Toons

  • In PvE, many players twink at either level 60 or 70 to experience that raid content at its intended level. There are many raiding guilds out there who are openly recruiting 60s and 70s to join their twink guilds.

  • Warglaives of Azzinoth

  • The Warglaives of Azzinoth are a rare drop off of Illidan Stormrage in Black Temple. They're available only to Warriors, Death Knights, and Rogues. The Glaives has one of the most interesting models in game. Once both the main hand and off hand are equipped, you earn a feat of strength and it contributes to the guild achievement "The Ultimate Collection." As stated, there is a main hand Warglaive of Azzinoth and an off hand Warglaive of Azzinoth.

  • World Bosses

  • These guys can be really fun to take down with a group of of friends, guildies, or PUGs. These don't necessarily have to be BC world bosses or the Cataclysm mini-bosses. You can even kill bosses of the opposite faction like Jaina Proudmoore, Shandris Feathermoon, and even city bosses like Lor'themar. It's a fun past-time although they don't drop any loot. There are also world bosses that drop current content loot such as the Sha of Anger or the Salyis Warband. In addition, there's also Oondasta and Nalak, and soon to be implemented, Ordos and The Celestials.

    Mounts

  • Aeonaxx

  • Aeonaxx is a rare mob similar to the Time Lost Proto Drake. He's a rare dragonkin that spawns in Deepholm and has a guaranteed chance to drop a mount Reins of the Phosphorescent Stone Drake. Upon spawning, Aeonaxx is friendly and appears to be mountable as a vehicle with a green mouseover arrow. Once a player mounts Aeonaxx, he becomes hostile and other players will not be able to mount. Aeonaxx will fly a route around the Temple of Earth and through northern areas of Deepholm while you're mounted on him. He summons Young Stone Drakes to attack the mounting player throughout the encounter. The young drakes have relatively low health and need to be killed so the player can continue attacking Aeonaxx. Aeonaxx does no damage to the player himself; he relies on the young drakes for defense.
This site has some information that may help out. :)
    http://findaeonaxx.blogspot.com/

  • Time Lost Proto Drake

  • Similar to Aeonaxx, the Time Lost Proto Drake spawns in the Storm Peaks. Living up to its name, many a campers lost much time camping this rare dragonskin spawn for its drop. The Time Lost has a guaranteed chance to drop Reins of the Time-Lost Proto-Drake. There are no real mechanics to it.
This site holds some nice information and protips on helping individuals farm the Time Lost.
    http://tlpdresource.com/newesthowto.html

  • Mysterious Camel Figurine (Grey Riding Camel)

  • Reins of the Grey Riding Camel is a little odd to obtain. For one, it requires you to find a rare item called 'Mysterious Camel Figurine' which, by the way, isn't targettable. These Figurines are located all over Uldum & can be VERY tedious to spot. NPCscan can help you find them but it'll give you a warning when one's in range. You'll still have to fly around to find it. When you find one, it'll do one of two things.
What's likely to happen is you'll find one and it'll get destroyed. You get a 25g vendor item as a reward. However, if you're lucky (very low chance), you'll get sent to the Steam Pools in Feralas. There, you'll encounter a mob called Dormus the Camel-Hoarder. After slaying him, you get the feat of strength "Scourer of the Eternal Sands", Reins of the Grey Riding Camel, & the title ____ the Camel-Hoarder. The mount Reins of the Grey Riding Camel will also count to your We're Going to Need More Saddles achievement.

  • Albino Drake

  • Reins of the Albino Drake is a flying mount which is available after you complete the achievement Leading the Cavalry. To complete that achievement, you must obtain 50 unique mounts. This mount is the exact same model as the Drake models except white with a little blue on the back.

  • Ashes of Al'ar

  • Ashes of Al'ar is a flying mount which is a drop off of Kael'thas Sunstrider in The Eye section of Tempest Keep. This mount is well known as one of the most prestigious mounts in-game. It has an approximate 1% drop rate according to Wowhead. This mount is based off the model of an earlier boss in the instance, Al'ar, the Phoenix God. Ashes of Al'ar is fairly rare due to the fact that Tempest Keep can only be done on a weekly basis. I recommend that players do this instance with a minute amount of players on a weekly basis. At a 1% drop rate, each year, there's only a 52% chance you'd see it drop. If you two-man it every week, it'd be more satisfying than going in with ten at a time. :) This mount will contribute to your We're Going to Need More Saddles Achievement.

  • Reins of the Azure Drake is a flying mount which is a drop off of Malygos 10 or 25M. It's got an approximate 4% drop-rate on either difficulty. It's got a 100% drop-rate and contributes to your We're Going to Need More Saddles achievement.

  • Blazing Drake

  • Reins of the Blazing Drake is a mount that drops off of both Normal and Heroic Madness of Deathwing. This mount has an approximate 5% drop-rate off of both difficulties. This mount contributes to your We're Going to Need More Saddles Achievement.

The instance is located in Uldum on the south-west side. It's not soloable by any means at the moment. Most people tend to put Al'Akir on farm on normal with around 3-5 people. It's easily do-able if you're geared. Make sure to check out a guide on how to do the Al'Akir encounter before attempting this. The mount itself has a 1%-3% drop-rate depending on the difficulty. Heroic 25M has a slightly higher drop-rate but tends to require far more people. This mount will contribute to your We're Going to Need More Saddles Achievement.

  • Flametalon of Alysrazor is a mount that drops off of Normal or Heroic Alysrazor in Firelands. This mount has an approximate 3% drop-rate on either difficulty and has a similar look to the Raven Lord (posted above). A simple way to obtain this mount is to 1) Obtain a lockout for Firelands that has two bosses cleared (Shannox, Rhyolith) Make sure an alt is saved to those two bosses. Afterwards, use that alts lockout to join on your main and then have the alt drop group. Afterwards, proceed to invite as many people as you want to farm Alysrazor. This mount contributes to your We're Going to Need More Saddles Achievement.
Important Note : This is easily two-mannable on the normal 10M difficulty with a Blood DK and Fire Mage. You could pull it off with a Tank, Heals, and any DPS if you want.

However, on Cataclysm release, the drop-rate was reduced to approximately 1%. It's one of the most sought after mounts currently and, in Cataclysm, can easily still require a good 15-20 experienced players to obtain. That is, to kill Heroic Lich King 25M anyways. This mount contributes to your We're Going to Need More SaddlesAchievement.

  • Mimiron's Head

  • Mimiron's Head is a flying mount which is a drop off of Yogg-Saron on the 25M difficulty. To have a chance of seeing this mount drop, the Yogg-Saron encounter must be done with 0 Keepers assisting you in the encounter. The drop-rate on this mount is approximately 1%. Pre-Cataclysm, the drop-rate was 100% but at Cataclysm launch, it was reduced to 1%. If you are Alliance, the Chopper schematic is available at Valiance Keep in Borean Tundra. If you are Horde, the Hog schematic is available at Warsong Keep in Borean Tundra. The vendor mats for these items cost approximately 12,500 gold. They are sold by an NPC known as Roxi Ramrocket in K3, Storm Peaks. There are several other mats including 12 Titansteel bars and more. The total cost normally ends up around 13K-14K depending on your server economy. After you complete the recipe and craft your mount, have fun! :) It awards the achievement Get to the Choppa! and contributes to your We're Going to Need More Saddles achievement.

The mount, once used, is an aquatic only mount and only moves at a 150% run speed. It contributes to your We're Going to Need More Saddles Achievement and is frankly the only reason why this mount is useful. It tends to sell for around 50K on most servers.

  • Pureblood Firehawk

  • Smoldering Egg of Millagazor is the official name of this mount but, once learned, is known as the Pureblood Firehawk. This mount drops off of Ragnaros on both the Normal and Heroic difficulty in the Firelands instance. Off normal mode and heroic, the mount has an approximate 1% drop-rate. This mount contributes to your We're Going to Need More Saddlesachievement.

  • Rivendares' Deathcharger

  • Deathcharger's Reins is a ground mount which is a drop off of Baron Rivendare in Stratholme. Rivendare is only available through the Service Entrance of Stratholme. The mount has an approximate 0.8% drop rate according to Wowhead. It may or may not be worth farming for Horde players due to the fact that Undead have similar mounts but the Deathcharger is its own unique colour and will count towards your We're Going to Need More Saddles Achievement. :)

  • Swift White Hawkstrider

  • Swift White Hawkstrider is a ground mount which is a drop off of Kael'thas Sunstrider in Heroic Magisters' Terrace. The mount is the only Hawkstrider available for Alliance players and a unique colour for Horde players. It has an approximate 4% drop rate according to Wowhead. While farming this mount, you may also receive a Phoenix Hatchling which has an approximate 10% drop rate & Orb of the Sin'dorei which has a 1-2% drop rate off of every mob in the instance. Also, the instance allows you to grind Shattered Sun reputation. After reaching exalted, you must pay 1,000 gold to Anchorite Kairthos and you will receive the title "_____Of the Shattered Sun". This mount will also contribute to your We're Going to Need More SaddlesAchievement.

  • Traveller's Tundra Mammoth

  • Reins of the Traveler's Tundra Mammoth is a three person ground mount available from Mei Francis in Dalaran. It costs approximately 17,500 gold but can cost less when honoured/revered/exalted with the Kirin Tor. It also has a repair bot that comes along with it and a vendor. It's a worthy spend for players who has gold to spare. It can really make a difference when you're in the middle of nowhere with no repair in sight. This mount contributes to your We're Going to Need More Saddles achievement.

  • Twilight Drake

  • Reins of the Twilight Drake is a flying mount which is a drop off of Sartharion in Obsidian Sanctum 25M. To get this drake, you must pull Sartharion without killing any of the Twilight Drakes that are on the sides. It must be burned as fast as possible. It's got a 100% drop-rate and contributes to your We're Going to Need More Saddles achievement.

  • Vial of Sands

  • Vial of the Sands is a two-person flying mount which is also BoE. The recipe to create a Vial of Sands is found VIA archaeology in Uldum. The Tol'vir are the ones that you have to farm to get the recipe. It can be excruciating to farm but it's well worth it. It's obtained from a Canopic Jar. The Canopic Jar has a slight chance of giving the Vial of Sands recipe. So, technically, it's a random drop off of a random. The vendor mats to create a Vial costs approximately 28,000 gold not counting reputation bonuses or goblin racial. The approximate value of the mount varies from 30K to 35K. After learning the mount, you can turn into a dragon and can have a friend mount you as you fly around Azeroth. This mount will contribute to your We're Going to Need More SaddlesAchievement and will reward the Vial of Sands achievement aswell.
Important Note : Only Alchemists can learn this recipe.

  • Vitreous Stone Drake

  • Reins of the Vitreous Stone Drake is a flying mount which is a drop off of Slabhide in either normal or heroic Stonecore. The instance is located in Deepholm at the Temple of the Earth. This instance, on normal, is soloable by most classes. The most difficult part of reaching Slabhide is the initial trash towards the first boss, Corborus. After you manage to get past it, you can sneak past Corborus and the rest of the trash. The Slabhide encounter itself is fairly easy and almost every class can solo it. The drop-rate between normal and heroic are apparently slightly different with heroic having a slightly higher drop-rate. The apparent drop-rate according to Wowhead is 0.8%. This mount will contribute to your We're Going to Need More Saddles Achievement.

  • Voltron (Jewelcrafting Panthers)

  • In Mists of Pandaria, four panther mounts based on four different gems (Jade, Ruby, Sapphire, and Sunstone) were implemented. These mounts are crafted by Jewelcrafters who've learned their respective patterns from the Order of the Cloud Serpent quartermaster. Each panther costs 20,000 gold in vendor mats (18,000 if your guild has the guild perk) along with varying prices for other materials. As stated above, there are four different panther mounts you can craft.
    There's :
Jade Panther, Ruby Panther, Sapphire Panther, and Sunstone Panther

There's also an additional mount which Jewelcrafters can craft called the Jeweled Onyx Panther.
To craft it, you must combine the above four panthers. Thus, the mounts price varies but it's generally around 80,000-90,000 gold to craft.

  • Winterspring Frostsaber/Venomhide Ravasaur

  • Reins of the Winterspring Frostsaber and Whistle of the Venomhide Ravasaur are rewards from a long quest-chain in which a player can obtain these mounts. The Frostsaber is available to alliance only and the Ravasaur is available to horde only.

    Frostsaber

For those of you who may be unfamiliar with the process, when you go speak to Rivern Frostwind you will be given an introductory quest - in this case, Get Them While They're Young. You must then go around collecting Frostsaber Cub (presumably in a 'scoop 'em up' fashion like the wolvar cubs in Dragonblight) and when you've obtained 8, simply return to Rivern Frostwind. He will then give you your very own Winterspring Cub and the quest They Grow Up So Fast. In order to obtain the required 20 Winterspring Cub Whisker, each day you can summon the little guy anywhere in Winterspring and you will be tasked with one of two daily quests. Once you've completed 20 days worth of quests to earn the required Winterspring Cub Whisker and collected the other items (20 Runecloth, 20 Rugged Leather and 80) you'll be able to turn it in and be rewarded with your very own Reins of the Winterspring Frostsaber!

    Horde

Travel to Un'Goro and seek out Mor'vek the ravasaur trainer.
He can be found a little north of the the entrance of Un'Goro.
Accept the quest The Toxic Tolerance.
Now you must get sprayed with blood of Venomhide Ravasaur 20 times. For Warriors or other high-armored classes this will be little easier. You must attack the mob in melee and you randomly get sprayed. You must use a very low-damage weapon, or you will kill the raptor. a Lance or Skinning Knife will do fine.
The quest Venomhide Eggs. Nothing special. Just find the eggs from nearby nests.
You obtain the They Grow Up So Fast. You can get Runecloth and Rugged Leather in advance if you want.
Finishing the quest will take at least 20 days, since you get one quest (and tooth) per day. You have to be in Tanaris, Silithus or Un'Goro. After 20 dailies (and teeth), you can return to Mor'Vek. When you give him 20 Rugged Leathers, 20 Runecloths (For the saddle), 80g and 20 teeth you finally obtain the mount.

    Miscellaneous

  • Accomplished Angler (Salty)

  • This is a meta achievement that'll require quite a bit of fishing to do. There are many, many fishing achievements that need to be completed and this can take a LONG time to finish. Once completed, you'll obtain one of the most sought after titles in-game, "Salty".

  • Aldors

  • Aldors are a faction of Draenei who revere the Naaru. To gain reputation with the Aldors, you must first complete the quest Allegiance to the Aldor.
This becomes available after completing the quest City of Light in Shattrath. After completing the quest, visit Aldors Rise. There's an individual named Adyen the Lightwarden. He has a repeatable turn-in quest in which you turn in Mark of Kil'jaeden. Mark of Kil'jaeden are dropped by low-ranking Burning Legion members (mostly Shadow Council affiliated Orcs.) You must turn in 220 Marks to reach Honored with the Aldors. After reaching Honored, Mark of Kil'jaeden will no longer work. A new repeatable turn-in quest becomes available in which you must turn in Mark of Sargeras. Mark of Sargeras drop off of high-ranking Burning Legion members (I.E. any demon mob above level 66.) Fel Armament is also available for turn-in but they're a tad more rare to get. Fel Armament can be turned in from friendly to Exalted. It takes approximately 1320 Mark of Sargeras or 95 Fel Armament to reach Exalted from Honored. After reaching Exalted, you will most likely be Hated with the Scryers. Don't fret, however, you can reach Exalted with them at a later point. Reaching Exalted with the Aldors allows a bunch of Reputation items to become available along with a cool Tabard. :)
Important Note : Check the AH for these items. They're commonly sold on most realms.

  • Ambassador

  • This title is awarded after gaining exalted status with all six factions of the Alliance or Horde. This is fairly easy after Cataclysm in which you're able to buy tabards and simply run dungeons until you're exalted. The tabards will allow you to gain reputation each trash and boss kill.

The locations of the Alliance tabards are as follows.

Stormwind Tabard - Trade District, by the ramp that leads up to the Gryphon Master.
Ironforge Tabard - To the right of the Ironforge Flight Master in the Great Forge section.
Gnomeregan Tabard - To the left of the Ironforge Flight Master in the Great Forge section.
Exodar Tabard - From east/old Exodar city entrance, to the left near the Flight Master.
Darnassus Tabard - Inside Darnassus, in the Temple Gardens, to the right of the portal that takes you to Rut'theran Village.
Gilneas Tabard - Right next to the Darnassus Quartermaster.

The location of the Horde tabards are as follows.

Orgimmar Tabard - Located right next to the Orgimmar Flight Master.
Darkspear Tabard - Located right next to the Orgimmar Flight Master.
Bilgewater Cartel Tabard - Located right next to the Orgimmar Flight Master.
Silvermoon City Tabard - Located outside of Silvermoon City at the Flight Master.
Thunder Bluff Tabard - Located by the Thunder Bluff Flight Master in the center of the city.
Undercity Tabard - Inside Undercity by the Flight Master.

  • Archaeology

  • Archaeology was a secondary profession that was released with Cataclysm. What was surprising is that not many people actually bother with it. Upon learning and training the profession, players will receive an ability called Survey. You can only use this ability in dig-sites which are indicated on the World Map with a shovel.
Once you find a dig-site, use your survey ability. A little tripod will spawn with a red, yellow, or green light. First, check the direction it's pointing to then move in that direction. If it's red, it means it's a little far. If it's yellow, it means it's sort of close. If it's green, it means it's very close to where you are. You'll learn about several races and Azeroth history as you train Archaeology. In the Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor, you'll learn about Night Elves, Trolls, Dwarves, and Fossils (1-300). In Outlands, you'll learn about Draenei and Orcs (300).
In Northrend, you'll learn about Nerubians and Vrykul (375). In Uldum, you'll learn about Tol'vir (450). Archaeology, however, isn't merely for learning about in-game lore. You can use Archaeology to gather rare and awesome items. There are items like Zin'rokh, Destroyer of Worlds, Fossilized Raptor, and Scepter of Azj'Aqir. There are dozens of items that are available. It just takes quite a bit of time and patience. :)

  • Browse the Forums

  • When I say browse the forums, I don't necessarily mean the World of Warcraft forums. Forums from all over the internet each have their own little community that other people can join in. I'd recommend you check some of them out in your spare time when you're bored. At least, when it comes to the WoW Forums, I spend more time here than I do in-game.

  • Cenarion Expedition

  • The Cenarion Expedition is a neutral faction that is mainly located in Zangarmarsh in Outlands. There are several reasons why one would want to reach exalted with the Expedition. For one, reaching exalted with both the Cenarion Circle and the Cenarion Expedition unlocks an achievement called Guardian of Cenarius which rewards a title "Guardian of Cenarius". Also, a mount is available once you reach exalted for the measly price of 3,000 gold. Cenarion War Hippogryph is a unique coloured Hippogryph mount that has a similar colour scheme to the default Night Elf flying mount. To reach exalted with the Cenarion Expedition is fairly easy. Before you start, make sure not to grind any quests in Zangarmarsh and Borean Tundra. From Neutral to Honoured, make sure you run Slave Pens and Underbogs on the normal difficulty. Once you reach Honoured, begin questing throughout Outlands to receive the reputation with them. Previous to Patch 4.3, there was a repeatable quest available with Coilfang Arnaments. Unfortunately, the quest was removed so the only way to reach Exalted from Honoured is to run Underbogs & Slave Pens on Heroic and to do quests in Outlands and Borean Tundra.

  • Cenarion Circle

  • The Cenarion Circle is a neutral faction, based in Moonglade and Silithus. There are various methods of gaining reputation: killing mobs belonging to the Twilight Hammer in Silithus, doing repeatable quests (both solo and group quests), non-repeatable quests and of course still AQ10 & AQ40. The fastest way to grind reputation at level 85 is to grind through all the Twilight Hammer cultists in Silithus. Each one gives 10 rep and drop Encrypted Twilight Text, which are required for the repeatable quest Encrypted Twilight Texts obtainable from Bor Wildmane in Cenarion Hold. It is possible to grind all the way through Honored to Exalted in less than 4 hours doing this.
NOTE: Make sure you always kill the roaming Twilight Prophets, as they drop 7 - 10 Encrypted Twilight Texts.
Clearing AQ10 will result in 10 reputation per trash mob & 300-600 per boss.
AQ40 will result in 10 reputation per trash mob & 150-500 per boss.
Once Exalted, you'll gain access to two epic level 60 items & this will contribute to your Guardian of Cenarius achievement.

  • ]Check out the Beta/PTR
  • [/b]
This isn't available to all players, at least for the beta. However, if you are invited to the Beta, it's worth checking out to see how your characters talents are changing and how your toon will play in the following expansion. This also applies to the PTR once it's available.
Important Note : This can lead to quicker burnout.

  • Community Character Artwork

  • Recently, a group of forumers started a series of threads where players could sketch their characters or sketch other players characters.
After being moved around a few times, the latest thread seems to have settled in the Community Events and Creations forums. It's fairly active and there are quite a few people there who're fantastic at what they do. If you're an aspiring artist or you're hoping to obtain a sketch of your character, you should check it out.

  • Contests

  • Contests! Competitions! They're always fun.
It doesn't matter what sort it is as long as you do one.
For example, I have a DPS competition in my weekly ICC25HM run.
Whoever is the top DPS wins (____) amount of gold. :)
You can get creative with it.
There could be a transmogrification contest (fashion show?), a DPS contest, a race, and more!

  • Cross-realm Zones

  • Have a friend who you want to level with but they're leveling on another realm? Have no fear! Cross-realm zone's are here! Now, if you want to hang out with a friend, simply invite them or have them invite you. This should then phase you into their server zone & you can do whatever you want. This is particularly fun if you're someone who enjoys dueling other players. The duel 'hang' spot's dead? Have someone from a highly populated realm invite you. Voila! You're on their server zone. Now you can duel to your hearts delight. But that's just an example. There's so much more you can do with this new feature. You can achievement grind, quest, explore, and more. :)

  • Darkmoon Faire

  • There are tons of fun mini-games in the Darkmoon Faire like Whack-a-Gnoll, the Tonk Battle Royale, the Cannon Ring Toss, and the Shooting Gallery to name a few. You can get Darkmoon Prize tickets from them. You can buy replica gear for transmogrification or even pets and mounts.

  • Darkmoon Faire Rabbit

  • Well, that's no ordinary rabbit.
That's the most foul, cruel, and bad-tempered rodent you ever set eyes on!
This Rabbit, which spawns at a cave in the south eastern bit of the Darkmoon Faire island, has approximately 174M health. You'll need a rather large raid group to be able to bring him down. He'll periodically leap at players with an attack called "HUGE, SHARP TEETH" that'll cause you to flee & is likely to kill you. After killing the boss, the entire raid group will receive the achievement "That Rabbit's Dynamite" & the boss will drop one Darkmoon Rabbit.

  • Explore and encounter the creepy in World of Warcraft

  • There are several severely creepy stories/places/encounters in World of Warcraft. Among these are the hanging corpses on the pathway to Scarlet Monastery, Dr. Weavil on Alcaz Island which is off the northeast coast of Dustwallow Marsh, The Unseen in Raven Hill, and Thaddius.

  • Explore the wonderous world of Azeroth

  • Players always complain about how there's nothing to do in World of Warcraft and that they spend all their time in the cities.
However, I've found that mounting up on a flying mount, pressing Alt-Z, and then proceeding to fly around can definitely be an enjoyable experience.
Doing so allows you to fully experience the environment.
There are beautiful and magical zones in Azeroth.
From Ashenvale to Darkshore, Feralas to Thousand Needles, Nagrand to Shadowmoon Valley, and Sholazar to Storm Peaks, these zones are all brilliantly made.
    Explore them. Experience them.
    It's worth it.

  • Gamon Ball

  • This is mainly a Horde mini-game.
The purpose of this game depends on what team you are on. Gamon Ball will be at a 4v4 format with one team doing everything they can to keep him alive (The LOS reset glitch being primary means of bringing gamon's health back) and the opposing team trying to kill him using whatever means possible.

1 - The teams will be of 4 people.
Anyone attempting to help another team will disqualify said team.
2 - The defense team must have at least 1 taunter to be able to try to reset Gamon's health.
3 - The arena will be of the team's choice right outside org by the Vash'ir boat is a good choice but this can be negotiable.
4 - There will be a time limit of 5 minutes in which the offensive team has to kill Gamon. If the offense does not kill Gamon at the end of the 5 minute period, the defense team wins.
The Alliance is still able to play this but, obviously, there are some complications involved with getting Gamon out of Orgimmar.

All credit for this game goes to the denizens of the realm Exodar.

  • Guardian of Cenarius

  • To complete this achievement, players must reach Exalted with both the Cenarion Circle and the Cenarion Expedition. For explanations on how to reach Exalted with the respective factions, see above. Completing this achievement will reward the player with the title ______ , Guardian of Cenarius.

  • Hail to the Chef

  • This is a meta achievement that involves quite a bit of, well, cooking to do. It takes quite a bit of effort to complete as there's much to do. It's arguably easier than Salty though and, I personally feel it's less tedious. There are many achievements to complete, many dailies to complete, and many feasts to complete. Once completed, you'll obtain the title "Chef".

  • Helping New Players

  • Most of us have probably had someone do something nice for us when we first started. This could vary from tossing 10g to purchase an item, inviting you to their guild, or even being your mentor. Now that you're an experienced WoW player, try it yourself. Help someone new in the game. It feels good and, since it's in this guide, can take up quite a bit of time. Be a mentor to someone. Help them learn the ropes of the game. Who knows? You might even make a long-lasting friend.

  • Hero of Shattrath

  • This achievement requires players to gain exalted status with both the Scryers and Aldors. It does not require you to be exalted with both of them at the same time. What you do is reach exalted following one of the above guides and then, depending on which faction you chose, have to complete a series of repeatable quests to cause the opposing faction to reset to neutral. If you're exalted with the Aldors, you must turn in Dampscale Basilisk Eye in the quest "More Basilisk Eyes" which is available from Arcanist Adyria in Shattrath. To get to neutral, it takes approximately 168 turn-ins of the quest. That's approximately 1344 Dampscale Basilisk Eye. If you're exalted with Scryers, you must turn in Dreadfang Venom Sac in the quest "More Venom Sacs" available from Sha'nir in Shattrath. It takes about the same amount of Venom Sacs as Basilisk Eyes.
Important Note : Venom Sacs are found from Spiders located in Terokkar Forest. The drop-rate is approximately 30-35%.
Basilisk Eyes are found from any sort of Basilisk-isque creature in Terrokar. It's drop-rate is also approximately 30-35%.

  • Is Another Man's Treaure

  • This achievement is part of the Lost and Found series of achievements. To complete this achievement, you need to find 20 lost treasures hidden in Pandaria. The items all have fairly long respawn timers but they're all neat and have (mostly) unique models. Several of the items you find are BOA and have a fairly high item level. Others are fairly useful and can benefit you. Others sell for high vendor prices (100g+). If you find twenty of them, you'll receive the title "the Relic-Hunter".
This Wowhead comment might be useful.

  • Insane in the Membrane

  • To get this achievement, you must grind exalted with Everlook, Ratchet, Ravenholdt, Booty Bay, Gadgetzan, and Darkmoon Faire. You need to grind Bloodsail Buccaneers to honoured. This feat of strength will grant the title "The Insane."

  • Join a Reroll Guild

  • There are many players out there who are getting bored themselves. Some of these players take the initiative and create 'Reroll' Guilds. The point of these Guilds, for the most part, are to find like-minded players and put them together in a fun and enjoyable environment. There are currently many Guilds out there who are doing exactly this. I'd highly recommend looking for them in the guild recruitment forums!
    Here's a link - http://us.battle.net/wow/en/forum/1011639/

  • Kurenai/Mag'har

  • These two reputations are different either for Alliance or Horde. Alliance are Kurenai and Horde are Mag'har. There are a few reasons players may grind this reputation. You can 1) Get Reins of the Cobalt War Talbuk and other such variations. 2) You can get their tabard. 3) You contribute towards the achievement "The Diplomat". To achieve exalted with this reputation, you must complete a repeatable quest called "Proving your strength!" (H) or "Fierce Enemies!" (A). The Horde quest is located in Garadar in Nagrand. The Alliance quest is located in Telaar in Nagrand. These quests require you to collect Obsidian Warbeads. These drop off of Ogres such as Boulderfist Mage. The Ogres are located all over Nagrand. The best farm spot for these beads are the "Burning Blade Ruins."
The actual name of the repeatable quest is "More Warbeads!" which grant +500 rep per turn in. It shouldn't take too long to grind this reputation and you can achieve it in less than a day. :)
Important Note : The Warbeads can also be used to grind reputation with the Consortium.

  • Listen to the music

  • Many players, myself included, are notorious for playing World of Warcraft with our in-game sounds and music off. However, what some players may not know is that the music that Blizzards team implements into the game is highly regarded by much of the community. There are brilliant pieces implemented in different zones such as Storm Peaks and Nagrand and fantastic pieces implemented during boss encounters such as Madness of Deathwing. Turn on your music. Sit and listen for awhile. You may grow fond of the tunes.

  • Mechanical Chicken

  • Another odd companion pet to obtain. To begin, one must first find each of the distress beacons which drop off of mobs. There are three distress beacons.
    - OOX-09/HL Distress Beacon drops from mobs in the Hinterlands.
    - OOX-17/TN Distress Beacon drops from mobs in Tanaris.
    - OOX-22/FE Distress Beacon drops from mobs in Feralas.
After obtaining these beacons, you'll in turn have to do an escort quest where you escort a Mechanical Chicken a short ways away from its location. There will be three escort quests, one for each beacon. Once completed, a quest should be available from Oglethorpe Obnoticus. He's located in Booty Bay at coordinates 43, 72.

For a more in-depth explanation on how to obtain this companion, read this.

    Miscellaneous Cont

  • Netherwing

  • Netherwing are a faction of Dragons who mutated and broke off from the Black Dragonflight. They're mainly located in Shadowmoon Valley. To begin your reputation grind, head to Netherwing Fields in Shadowmoon Valley and speak to Mordenai. He can be difficult to spot because he frequently enters combat and his exclamation point appears but keep looking. He starts a short questchain which will result in your reputation being Neutral with the once Hated Netherwing. After you complete the questchain, he gives you a quest called "Blood Oath of the Netherwing" which you simply turn into him. He also gives another quest called "In Service of the Illidari" which is a questline that transforms you into an Orc anytime you enter Netherwing Ledge, enabling you to pickup dailies there. Complete all the quests and do the dailies there and you should be good for the day. Doing the dailies for the rep grind will get you to exalted in a week or two. However, if you really want it as fast as possible, you could grind it out VIA Netherwing Eggs. These are rare quest items that have set spawn spots and are farmed heavily by other rep grinders. It can be difficult to find many of them but if you're determined enough, you can hit exalted in two or three days rather than a week or two.
The initial turn-in of Netherwing Eggs rewards 350 Rep per Egg. However, each turn-in afterwards rewards 250 Rep per Egg. The reward for completing this reputation grind is the ability to purchase 6 different Netherwing Mounts including Reins of the Azure Netherwing Drake. The initial mount you get is free for reaching exalted. To get all of them, it'll cost 1,000 gold because they're 200g per Drake. Good luck!
Important Note : Make sure to have 280+ Flying before beginning this Grind. It's mandatory to have 150 Flying but 280 Flying will make the Grind that much easier.

  • Paper Zeppelin Attack

  • Try throwing Paper Zeppelin at a friend and have them run away and throw it back. Keep repeating this and, eventually, it'll look like there are hundreds of Paper Zeppelin chasing him. Don't let them hit you and run around Stormwind or Orgimmar. It's quite the sight.

  • Peace Core

  • Level to 85 while keeping your kill count as low as possible. There's more information in this thread. http://us.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/2301733700?page=1

  • Pet Battles

  • Arguably one of the most enjoyable features implemented in Mists, Pet Battles are definitely a fun past time. If you haven't tried them out yet, I'd definitely recommend you do so. They're highly addictive. Once you start, you wont want to stop. From collecting to battling, achievements to farming, pet battles are definitely one of the greatest features implemented by Blizzard. I wont be going too in-depth in what Pet Battles are other than you can use most of your companion to participate in them. Warcraftpets has a great guide to Pet Battles and I'd highly recommend you check it out if you're interested in them.

  • Play a different role.

  • So many of us seem to not realize that World of Warcraft has three distinctly different roles in the game. From Tanking to Healing to Damage, each role has a different part in a group. If you're bored playing your DPS, try Tanking! If you're bored playing your Healer, play DPS! Try something new. You may like it. :)

  • Play a game of catch

  • You can use either Heavy Leather Ball or Paper Zeppelin. First, gather a few of either item listed above. Second, gather a few friends.
Find a spot you guys can play around in (ex : DD in Stormwind or in front of Grommash Hold in Orgimmar). When you guys start, try getting rid of your items by throwing them to your friends. Whoever runs out first wins.

  • Ramkahen

  • The Ramkahen tribe is a faction of tol'vir that control the territory of northern Uldum. By questing in Uldum, you'll be able to reach Honored with the Ramkahen. Afterwards, the easiest method to grind to exalted is by wearing the tabard, purchasable at friendly, from Blacksmith Abasi who's located at Ramkahen. Wearing the Ramkahen tabard will allow you to gain reputation with Ramkahen while doing level appropriate instances. In most cases, this means level 85 dungeons. You're also able to do two dailies, Thieving Little Puckers and Fire From The Skies. The former is obtainable from Nomarch Teneth who is located in Tahret Grounds in Uldum. The latter is obtainable from Weathered Nomad who is located at the Confiscated Artillery in Northern Uldum. Once exalted, you'll obtain an achievement named after the reputation. Also, two camel mounts will become available for purchase from Blacksmith Abasi for 100 gold per. Learning one of the mounts will grant the achievement One Hump Or Two?. The camel mounts will contribute to your We're Going to Need More Saddles achievement.

  • Roleplaying

  • Many players tend to overlook this specific element of World of Warcraft. Roleplaying is definitely a fun past-time to take advantage of. It gives an opportune in which the player can use their writing skills to develop their own character and act as said character. It's like expressing your creativity in-game. There are several realms where RP is quite active. Two very active realms are Wyrmrest Accord & Moon Guard. They're both fairly balanced faction-wise so you can choose either Horde or Alliance and have fun. Also, check out the World's End Tavern for more information on roleplaying. They've got fantastic guides there.

  • Scryers

  • Scryers are a faction of Blood Elves who broke off from Kael'thas. To gain reputation with the Aldors, you must first complete the quest Allegiance to the Scryers. This becomes available after completing the quest City of Light in Shattrath. After completing the quest, visit Scryer's Tier. There's an individual named Magistrix Fyalenn. He has a repeatable turn-in quest in which you turn in Firewing Signet. Each turn-in of 10 will reward 250 reputation. These signets drop off of any low-level Firewing members found at Firewing Point north-east of Shattrath. Once reaching honored, they are no longer available for turn-in. It takes approximately 360 to go from neutral to honored. After reaching honored, a new repeatable turn-in quest becomes available in which you turn in Sunfury Signet. These drop from any blood elf mob that is level 66 or higher. Each turn-in of 10 will yield 250 reputation. Upon reaching honored, it will take approximately 1,320 Sunfury Signet to reach exalted. You can also turn in Arcane Tome for 350 reputation per. These can be turned in starting at neutral. However, it is recommended to save them till you're honored. It takes approximately 95 Arcane Tome turn-ins to reach exalted from honored.
Important Note : Check your realms AH for the materials to reach exalted. They're sold quite often on most realms.

  • Secret and hidden locations of Cataclysm

  • There's several "hidden" locations that were introduced with Cataclysm. These include the Maelstrom in Darkshore (surprise), the transforming critters in northwest Mulgore, the fairy ring event in west Tirisfal Glades, and the random camp at Lake Dumont in Feralas. There are far more but here's a link to several of them.
    http://ironyca.wordpress.com/2010/12/23/secrets-and-hidden-locations-in-cataclysm/

  • Sha'tari Skyguard

  • The Sha'tari Skyguard are an air wing of the Sha'tar of Shattrath City, defending the capital from attackers in the hills as well as battling against the arakkoa of Terokk in the peaks of Skettis. The Skyguard are actually one of the easier BC reputations to farm. First, there are two major questing zones in Terokkar & Blade's Edge Mountains. Completing the questlines there will yield 5K reputation. Also, there are daily quests available. Doing nothing but dailies to grind this reputation will take approximately 37 days to reach exalted from friendly. However, there's a repeatable quest obtained from Severin at Blackwing Landing in Terokkar Forest. Severin <Skyguard Medic> initiates the main questline for the Sha'tari Skyguard which has the player collect 6 Shadow Dust to create an Elixir of Shadows for Sky Commander Adaris. After the initial quest, players may continue to turn in a 6 Shadow Dustt for another Elixir of Shadows and 150 reputation with the Skyguard. The elixir gives a 20 minute buff (which lasts through death) that enables the player to see the shadow arakkoa of Skettis, which is necessary for several quests. . Farm all of the mobs in Skettis, turn in the repeatable shadow elixir quest and once under the effects of the elixir, farm the time-lost mobs for time-lost scrolls, used to summon some mini-bosses around the area. Once these bosses are killed, you can turn in their claws/beaks for 350 rep, and you will be given a time-lost offering, which is used to summon Terokk, who gives you 500 rep when killed. Complete this process over and over again and you will have roughly 2k+ rep/hr. Once exalted, players will be able to purchase Nether Ray mounts like Blue Riding Nether Ray for 160g per. You'll also be able to purchase Nether Ray Fry for 32g. Once exalted, you'll also obtain an achievement ; Flying High Over Skettis.
The Nether Ray mounts will contribute to your We're Going to Need More Saddlesachievement.

  • Shattered Sun Offensive

  • The Shattered Sun Offensive, abbreviated as SSO, is an army of blood elf and draenei priests, magisters and warriors on the Isle of Quel'Danas. Grinding this reputation is fairly easy but takes a bit of time. On the Isle of Quel'Danas, there are multiple dailies available. Simply complete each and every one of them and you'll be working your way up with the SSO. Another method is to grind the Magisters' Terrace instance. This is the most efficient way to grind reputation with the Shattered Sun.
Simply clear Magister's Terrace multiple times an hour (clear the entire instance) until you reach Revered. Once Revered, you'll no longer gain reputation with the Shattered Sun through the instance unless it's on Heroic. Set the instance difficulty to Heroic and clear the instance on a daily basis. A full clear of the instance rewards 2,900 reputation. From revered, it'll take about a week to get to Exalted. The plus of grinding Magisters' Terrace on Heroic is that you could get lucky and obtain a Swift White Hawkstrider. Once Exalted with the Shattered Sun Offensive, you'll gain an achievement. Speak to Anchorite Kairthos who'll give you a quest. After completing the quest which involves you giving 1,000 gold to him, you'll obtain the title 'Of the Shattered Sun'.

  • Socialize

  • I know what you're thinking. "Why'd he put 'socialize' up here? It's a WoW Survival Guide, not a psychology session." Well, actually, one KEY thing that many players enjoy in World of Warcraft is the social aspect. It's also one thing that many players miss out on. To enjoy this game to the maximum potential, use it to make friends. Take the extra step. Join Guilds, talk to people, befriend them. It'll make your experience in this game that much better!

  • Soloing Dungeons to level cap

  • The basis of this is to reach level 85 while doing dungeons (only). You have to solo each and every boss BY YOURSELF without any help from friends. This is considered relatively challenging and can be insane once you reach the Cataclysm dungeons.
http://us.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/4768357673?page=1 is a player who is also doing this.

  • Sons of Hodir

  • The Sons of Hodir are a faction of ice giants located in Storm Peaks region of Northrend. The player will start as hated with The Sons of Hodir. To gain status you need to run the main quest chain which starts with They Took Our Men! in K3. To gain further reputation with the Sons of Hodir, you can run daily quests. Also, you're able to turn in Relic of Ulduar for a repeatable quest which drop off of mobs all over Storm Peaks & Ulduar itself. Everfrost Chip are also usable in repeatable quests to gain reputation. These are found in areas near Dun Niffelem in Storm Peaks. They don't drop off of mobs and are picked up similar to herbs/mining nodes. The easiest way to grind reputation with the Sons of Hodir is to turn in Sons of Hodir Commendation Badge which can be purchased in Dalaran from Arcanist Miluria for Alliance & Magistrix Vesara for Horde. They cost 16 JP per and provide 520 reputation per. Once you reach revered, you're able to purchase Reins of the Ice Mammoth for 1,000g. At exalted, you're able to purchase Reins of the Grand Ice Mammoth for 10,000g. Both these mounts contribute to your We're Going to Need More Saddles achievement.

  • Tag

  • This is definitely something fun to waste time away with.
The basic gist of it is as follows. Players will chase one another in a home city and see if they can tag one another.
There are just a few simple rules.

1 - Players must remain on ground mounts.
    2 - No flying.
3 - No using abilities (Life grip).
4 - You cannot leave the home city.

  • Tauren Darts

  • Create level 1 Tauren with a few friends.
    Afterwards, go to Thunderbluff.
Have one of them drop a flare or a raid marker at the bottom of Thunder Bluff.
    Afterwards, start jumping off.
Whoever dies closest to the raid marker wins.

  • Timeless Isle

  • The Timeless Isle was implemented with patch 5.4. It's intended as a gear catchup which is implemented in the last patch of every expansion. The island is composed of elites, rare mobs, quests, and world bosses. There are also chests scattered throughout the island along with dozens of vanity items. I'd go in-depth but there are dozens of well written guides out there already so I'd highly recommend looking into one of those. Here's a link to one.
    http://www.wowhead.com/news=219459/wowheads-guide-to-the-timeless-isle

  • The Lorewalkers

  • The Lorewalkers are a faction implemented with the release of Mists of Pandaria. Their method of grinding reputation is a tad different than the methods we've seen in the past. To raise your status with the Lorewalker's, you need to complete a series of achievements (which you can find in your Achievement's Tab under Exploration -> Pandaria). To complete the achievements, you need to find scrolls that are located throughout Pandaria. Each achievement that you complete will reward you with a bit of reputation along with a scroll which you can turn into Lorewalker Cho. When you turn the scroll into Lorewalker Cho, you'll get to watch a neat little cinematic that explains the lore regarding the scrolls you found for that specific achievement. The Lorewalker's were definitely one of my favorite reputations to grind and you also get to purchase an awesome mount! Disc of the Red Flying Cloud is available for 600g off the Lorewalker's Quartermaster.

  • Transmogrification

  • The ability to change how you look albeit with some restrictions. This, arguably, is one of the best features ever implemented into World of Warcraft. Transmogrification allows the player (almost) full creative ability to make their character look like what they think their character should look like. For many players, this feature takes quite a bit of time out of a player on a weekly basis. Some, like myself, are addicted to this feature and consistently create new and unique outfits. Others tend to stick to that one set they've always loved. Some like to portray themselves in a skimpy manner. Others like to make their toon look silly. The neat part of this feature is that it allows players to express themselves in their character.
There are quite a few addons and guides players should use if they're interested in transmogrification.

http://www.curse.com/addons/wow/mogit is almost a must for transmogrification addicts. MogIt is an in-game catalogue of transmogrification items with the aim of helping players build their own sets!

http://wowroleplaygear.com/ has a fantastic list of multiple armor sets & tier sets.

Our very own Lull has even created an Armorkini thread!

  • Trivia Games

  • These can take place in /guild, /say, /general, or even /trade.
However, make sure you're doing it in a place where only players who're interested in participating will see it.
You can create these Trivia Games yourself and have them be WoW-related or you can download addons from Curse that have premade questions that you could use for the games.
You can even have prizes for answering a certain number of questions.

  • Westfall Chicken

  • A highly unusual companion pet to obtain. To get this pet, a player must /chicken at a chicken anywhere in-game. They each have a small chance of providing a quest to you called "CLUCK!" What you must do is continuously /chicken at a chicken until "it looks at you puzzled. Perhaps you should inspect it". Afterwards, you must /cheer. The chicken will then turn from neutral to friendly and provide the quest above.
This quest requires you to get Special Chicken Feed which is obtained from Farmer Saldean in Westfall for Alliance and William Saldean in Tirisfal Glades for Horde. Proceed to /cheer any chicken (there are several near the farmer) and feed them with Special Chicken Feed. The chicken will then lay a Chicken Egg. Use it and voila, you've now received a Westfall Chicken.

  • What A Long Strange Trip It's Been

  • This meta achievement requires completion of several Holiday events. These Holiday events are as follows : Lunar Festival, Noblegarden, Midsummer Festival, Hallow's End, Love is in the Air, Children's Week, Brewfest, and Pilgrim's Bounty. Due to the nature of this meta, it'll take from 9 months to a year to complete if you're starting fresh. This meta achievement is comprised of different meta achievements for each of the holidays listed. They've all got different criteria to fill. It's well worth it though because this meta achievement will award Reins of the Violet Proto-Drake and Master Riding. This mount will also contribute to your We're Going to Need More Saddles achievement.

  • World Explorer

  • Similarly to the above post about exploring secret places, there's actually an achievement to explore the entire World of Azeroth including Outlands. If you've never seen the entirety of Azeroth, it can be a really fun experience. This is especially true if you take your time with it and don't rush. There are several interesting bits of areas in Azeroth following the Cataclysm like the Maelstrom in Stranglethorn Vale and the chasm in the Blasted Lands. Regardless, completing this achievement requires you to explore Kalimdor, Eastern Kingdoms, Outlands, Northrend, and Cataclysm. You can fly throughout all the zones with the exception of Azuremyst, Bloodmyst, Ghostlands, Eversong, and Quel'Danas. Completing the Explorer of Northrend will grant you the tabard Tabard of the Explorer. Completing all five explorer achievements will grant you the title "_____ The Explorer."

    Miscellaneous Cont. P2

  • Wyrmrest Accord

  • Wyrmrest Accord are a faction which was created in retaliation to the aggressive nature of the Blue Dragonflight towards Dalaran. It's very easy to gain reputation with this faction. Simply quest in Dragonblight. Finishing the quests there will push you to at least Honored with Wyrmrest. Afterwards, you can simply wear the Wyrmrest Accord Tabard, purchased from Cielstrasza, which will help you gain reputation while you grind in level 80 dungeons. Alternatively, you can purchase Wyrmrest Commendation Badge from either Arcanist Miluria (Alliance) or Magistrix Vesara (Horde) who are located in Dalaran in their respective districts. Each Wyrmrest Commendation Badge costs 16 JP and will reward 520 reputation. Once exalted, you'll gain the achievement The Wyrmrest Accord and you can purchase the Reins of the Red Drake mount from Cielstrasza for 2000g (before discounts for being exalted). The drake will contribute to your We're Going to Need More Saddles achievement.
